Despite the recognized complexity of the issue, there are channels through which blockchain technology and other digital currencies are likely to influence income distribution. My research aims to examine the mechanisms through which monetary systems, including cryptocurrencies, can impact income inequality and identify potential policy solutions to mitigate the negative consequences. This research builds upon my prior work, which has focused on the impact of financial and political ideology on income inequality. I am particularly interested in investigating the potential for blockchain technology to create a more equitable financial system, as well as the potential for new digital currencies to exacerbate existing inequalities.
